About Inaro Inaro Trauma Informed Somatic Therapy for LGBTQIA+
Mission
I created Inaro from a recognition that the experience of being LGBTQIA+ is often complex, nuanced, and not always fully understood within traditional therapy spaces. When looking for a therapist myself I felt a strong need to have a therapist who had also experienced what it is to be LGBTQIA+ in this world.
Many LGBTQIA+ people find themselves navigating questions around identity, intimacy, shame, and belonging, yet struggle to find support that truly meets them where they are, without needing to explain or translate their experience.
Inaro exists to offer a space where this is already understood. A grounded, therapeutic environment where LGBTQIA+ people can explore themselves more deeply, with care, clarity, and without judgement.
Method
One of the key differences between somatic therapy and traditional talk therapy is that there is less focus on retelling your story or analysing the past. Instead, attention is given to what is happening in the present moment, particularly within the body.
Sessions begin by taking time to settle and arrive. From there, you are invited to bring whatever feels relevant, whether that is a current challenge, a pattern, or something you are trying to understand. As the session unfolds, we gently notice sensations, emotions, and thoughts as they arise, working at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
My role is to offer a steady and supportive presence, helping you to stay with your experience and gradually make sense of what emerges.
Over time, this can support the integration of experiences that may have felt stuck or unresolved. You may begin to notice shifts in how you feel in your body, a greater sense of ease, or increased clarity in how you relate to yourself and others.
